The Chief of Antoa has been destooled
Antoa’s Chief in Ashanti Region, Nana Kwame Owusu Agyeman, has been destooled by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene of the Asante tribe destooled the chief of Antoa for a series of offenses, including multiple land sales, in a verdict.
The ruling was handed down at its first meeting on Monday 29 May 2023, after the King, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II of the Ashanti Traditional Council visited Britain for the coronation of King Charles III.
Nana Kwame Owusu Agyeman has been the ruler of Antoa for 23 years now.
His superiors reportedly broke established and accepted standard procedures in appointing his nephew as his successor. Relatives and elders reportedly urged him to seek permission from Otumfuo, but he ignored them.
After hearing his case on Monday night, Otumhuo Osei Tutu II ruled against him and ordered his confiscation.
